Lyrics

All Things Testify

Each miracle of life,
A signature of Him;
The tender mercies of the Lord
Leave his gentle mark therein.
The scriptures testify
And bear his sacred name.
The Holy One born long ago
Is the Savior still the same.

Chorus

All things testify
Of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

Every star that lights the sky
Bears the name of the Lord.
All creation by His hand,
Every ocean, every land
Proclaims divinity
Of Jehovah, Heavenly King.

The spirit whispers truth
Of His great sacrifice.
Because I feel His pow’r change me
I believe in Jesus Christ.
He heals me with His love.
He fills me with His light.
My witness I will add to all
That I testify of Christ.

Repeat Chorus

All things testify
Of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

Every star that lights the sky
Bears the name of Lord
Let creation by His hand,

Every nation, every land
Proclaim divinity
Of Jehovah, Heavenly King.

Story Behind the Song

Over 20 years ago, I wrote a simple song called “All Things Testify”. It was the last of 12 songs to be included on my album, “They Healing Hands”. As we we were nearing the end of production, my production manager asked me, “Don’t you have another song we could add?” I told him I would pray about it. That afternoon, in the middle of my prayer, the thought came to me: Go look in your kitchen cupboard. I jumped up and opened a few of the doors and in the cupboard next to my stove there was a yellow sticky note with the words ALL THINGS TESTIFY. Apparently months before I had slapped that note in there while I was cooking with that thought that it should be a song title one day. I had completely forgotten about it.

I quickly got to work and penned lyrics for this new song, and what would be the last contribution to this album. Music began to flow shortly thereafter, and the entire next day I wrote the music. I called my producer and told him I had it. It had only been 24 hours. It was one of those songs that flowed – which doesn’t usually happen, but I cherish those inspired moments. Another testament that there is a God who hears my prayers and knows me.
